ON THE PODIUM AT HOCKENHEIM.
SUCCESS WITH NERO ROSSO.
In the debut for Scuderia Nero Rosso I managed to score a second and a sixth place at Hockenheim, and we are still on top of the championship after six races.
For me it was great to be back in the Ferrari 430 and even if we had no possibility to test prior to the race I felt that we had a good chance to do something really good.
In race one I made a good start and after two laps I passed the Porsche of Martin Dechent that was in second place. For the rest of the distance I chased the leader Jürg Bender but lost some time while lapping cars and had to settle for second place.
I was a little bit disappointed not to win but on the other hand I was there for the points and second place was better than we thought was possible when we arrived in Hockenheim. As good as the start was in race 1, as bad it was in race 2 and I lost it all when I avoided a Porsche that forgot to brake for the first corner. Instead of fighting for the top spot I had to fight hard to get any points at all and finished sixth after a much harder race than the first one.
All in all this was a good weekend, my goal was just to start to keep the championship alive and in the end we actually extended the lead! I have to thank Torbjörn Ekstrand and Scuderia Nero Rosso for giving me this opportunity and I hope that we will be able to find an agreement for the rest of the season.
NEW TEAM FOR THIS WEEKEND!
Because of the problems related to the collaps of the teams title sponsor we have been forced to race with the older Ferrari models and of course been uncompetitive compared to especially the Porsche teams with their brand new cars. Despite this handicap we have been able to perform well but I have fought hard to find a way for us to find the budget to race our new cars, especially because I am leading our class and need to be on top to maintain that position.
Unfortunately the work has been in vain so for this weekend I have signed a deal to race for Scuderia NeroRosso that can provide me with the new Ferrari 430 model. I have to thank the management of the team for a great cooperation and I am so happy to race again on the same conditions as our competitors.
My 34 hours at Le Mans.
Most people consider the classic Le Mans race as a 24 hour event but this year in my role as a EUROSPORT commentator I did no less than 34 hours of live coverage. We did free practice, qualifying, warm up and of course the race, so in the end we all started to get a little bit tired. Fortunately a very interesting and dramatic race helped us to stay awake and we have to congratulate Peugeot that broke Audi’s dominance.
The highlight for me was to see how the Ferrari cars dominated the GT2 class and I talked to three of the teams that I have driven for in the past about a seat for 2010. Not least because it will be less work, I will definitely do all I can to be in one of the 55 cars instead of the commentary booth next year when the start takes place.
STILL IN THE TOP FIGHT.
Another good showing in the DMV Tourenwagen Challenge
Last time out we had huge gearbox problems but still managed to score points enough to lead our class in the championship and after two more heats we are still in the top fight.
Nürburgring has always been one of my favourite tracks and even if we still had to run the older version of the challenge car I felt that we really were doing a good job.
Lacking up to 150 bhp´s compared to some of our competitors we took two sixth places and are in second position in the championship despite the handicap of the old car.
All in all we had a great weekend and I really hope that we should be able to continue in the championship and preferably with the new car so we can start to win some races also.

BUSY WEEKEND IN GERMANY.
Time for the next round in the DMV Tourenwagen Challenge and also a huge VIP guest programme at the DTM premiere. The only problem is that the two activities are on two different race tracks!
Fortunately our DMV race that will take place at Nürburgring will be decided Friday and Saturday, and the DTM premiere at Hockenheim is on Sunday. For the race at Nürburgring I will once again team up with Lars Edvardsson and that feels good after our very successful start in the series. Hopefully we will be able to keep the momentum and still be on top in in our class after the two heats on Saturday.
SUCCESS IN DMV TOURENWAGEN CHALLENGE: THE RAIN HELPED US AT HOCKENHEIM.

Despite huge gearbox problems we managed to score points for a third and a fifth place in the first round of this years DMV Tourenwagen Challenge at Hockenheim. Not least because of a brilliant drive from my new teammate Lars Edvardsson we scored points enough to lead our class after two really exciting races in the rain.
It is not decided yet if we will continue together but I really wish that we can find a way, because we did great together both on and off the track and had so much fun.
Even if we did not solve the problems with the gearbox I also have to thank our mechanic, Kennie Svensson, who worked very hard the whole weekend and contributed to our success in a vital way. If we get everything together I hope to be back for the next round at Nürburgring in the middle of may.

TIME FOR THE FIRST RACE IN THE DMV TOURENWAGEN CHALLENGE AT HOCKENHEIM.
A record 45 cars are entered to the premiere at Hockenheim this coming weekend. It is the premiere in this years DMV Tourenwagen Challenge and because of the rough times we have a slightly different set up. Instead of driving one of the G2 cars I will share a Ferrari 360 Challenge with Swedish driver Lars Edvardsson who will make his international debut at Hockenheim.
It was over four years since I drove a 360, but it is the Ferrari model I reached my biggest successes with, so I am sure that we will be competitive anyway.
Amazingly despite the economic recession no fewer than 45 cars are entered for the race and that is the maximum numbers allowed to start on the Hockenheim Grand Prix track. Two years ago I also raced in this series as a complement to the Ferrari Challenge and finished third overall in the quickest class so my hopes are high and I am really looking forward to the weekend.

GT 90's REVIVAL SERIES AT BILSPORT PERFORMANCE SHOW.
Initially the plan for this year was to take part in one of the rounds of the GT 90´s Revival Series just for fun and as a complement to our normal racing in Ferrari Challenge. Now it looks like we will be able to do the full series and what could be more appropriate a year when I am celebrating 15 years together with Ferrari.
During Easter the good old 355 that I won the Ferrari/Porsche Challenge with was on display at the Bilsport Performance Show, which this year was bigger than ever. Almost 76.000 people visited the Elmia exhibition center in Jönköping.

WHERE IT ALL STARTED. The Ferrari 348 Le Mans Tony drove in his debut season, here during a test session at Paul Ricard in march 1995. You can find more pics and stories from Tonys first 15 years of racing with Ferraris here.
