Silverstone April 19-20

Picture of Tony racing the Ferrari

It was with high hopes we arrived in Silverstone, but already during the free practice we ran into difficulties. The team had been testing at the track two weeks before, so we thought that we had a clear picture of the setup to go quick around the circuit. Unfortunately for so many reasons, the weather was as bad as it gets in the UK and with rain and cold temperatures we struggled immediately.

My qualifying sessions were not good and I had to start race one in 14th position and race two in 15th. If the qualifying was disappointing, the same goes for the two races. Even with hard work I did not manage better than 15th in race 1 and 13th in race 2. The only positive factor was that we got a lot of useful data from the car which we will analyze next week and learn from.

Despite the poor outcome of the weekend, the spirit in the team is high and now we will forget Silverstone and fully concentrate on the test days at Paul Ricard two weeks from now. The next Ferrari Challenge race weekend will be decided at that circuit in the south of France, and we will spare no energy to prepare the cars in the best possible way to assure that we get the results that we know is possible.
